Project: The Aparttment, Retail
Client: Myself and Justin Hemmes, CEO of Merivale
Location: Sydney
Opened: 2013
Brief: A retail concept based around a French apartment. You can buy anything from the kitchen items, the rugs, the art, the lights and of course the TT clothes ( explains the two T’s in The Aparttment). You can also just chill out and listen to tunes in the living room.
Highlights: Garnered heavy sponsorship from major players like Merivale, Coco Republic and T2, to form the perfect concept store for Tighttigers. Meet The Aparttment. Created a store where the customer would wander through the opulently decorated boutique, pausing to ogle the oversized stuffed toy tiger, or take a seat on one of the plush sofas (by Coco Republic). Soy candles perfumed the space, which was filled with Senso shoes, custom leather jackets by Nour Hammour and a wall of cosmetics and beauty products from Australian brand Bloom Cosmetics. Some well known artists got in on the concept and donated pieces to hang on the huge gallery wall. Merchandizing such a huge space was a daily challenge that I came to love as the windows were 50 feet long and 20 feet high. That’s a lot of window displays. Product placement was key in this environment as I designed the customer to be able to walk through three different ways hitting the hot spots of revenue within the store.
